| Bike bomb kills Afghan civilians in Helmand |

A bike laden with bomb went off on Afghan civilians in Southern Helmand province on Tuesday morning which left causalites, Afghan Interior Ministry said.
“The bomb went off on Afghan civilians near to Kandahar bus stop in Lashargah of Helmand province, killed eight civilians and wounded 16 others”. MoI press release said. Police commander of Helmand province, Assuallah Sherzad said: “seven people were killed and 10 others were wounded and they are all civilians”. The explosion takes place just one day after NATO killed at least 27 civilians and wounded 11 others in an air strike in southern Uruzgan province. The statement reference “enemies of Afghanistan” for the blast, a word has widely been using by Afghan authorities for the Taliban militants. Taliban didn’t comment about the bombing of Lashargah. In a separate operation in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, two people were killed and two others were wounded, Afghan police said. “A road mine laden in motorized rickshaw targeted the police convoy in du saraka of Surkhrod district of Nangarhar, but none of the police officers were killed or wounded” Nangarhar Police said. According to Afghan police, the bomb targeted a delegation of Afghan police, but the delegation led by Sayed Akber Tabash deputy of Police 202 Shamshad HQ in eastern Afghanistan, but the delegation escaped unhurt. In eastern Khost province, a bomb targeted Afghan National Police convoy, but three civilians were wounded in the incident. The wounded have been taken to the nearest hospital in Khost city. Khost is one of the strongholds of Taliban militants and Haqqani network.

Lisbon, Portugal - Portuguese voted Sunday in an election that that the ruling Socialists were expected to win but without an absolute majority, producing greater political uncertainty at a time of serious economic challenges. Prime Minister Jose Socrates is expected to win about 38 percent of the vote, meaning his center-left Socialists would be unable to replicate their current majority rule. 
Tel Aviv, Israel - Israel says the disclosure that Iran is building a second nuclear enrichment facility proves it "wants to equip itself with nuclear weapons". Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Israel wanted to see an "unequivocal" Western response to the development. Tehran insists that the site, under construction near the city of Qom, is being built in line with United Nations regulations, though this is contested. 
Camberra, Australia - Kevin Rudd's most important diplomatic goal is within reach: having the Group of 20 converted into a permanent decision-making body that gives Australia an influence it has never previously enjoyed. Early reports from the US side from the Pittsburgh summit suggest world leaders have decided to make the G20 the prime global body for economic decision-making. If such impressions are confirmed this is a substantial shift in international power arrangements.
