Cultivation
& The Ancient Art of Pranic Healing
by Amir Hossein Khonsari
From the time that
mankind started to live on this planet he begins to solve
every problems he faced in his daily life. As he is improving
in the modern science of human society he gets far from
one thing. He is getting far away from himself and always
he hears an inner voice and asks himself “who am I?” So
this is the reason why we have the prophets, saints, clairvoyants
and extraordinary people in each period. From this point
of view we can define the word cultivation. In all religions,
much attention is given to cultivation.
This Article will be about cultivation ways and the Ancient
Art of Pranic Healing. Cultivation simply means inner growth
or improves and develops by careful attention and Pranic
Healing is an energy healing technique based on the overall
structure of the human body. The aim of this Article is
reminding the reader that we are part of god, because many
people forget about their spiritual powers.
“… Then the lord god formed man out of the dust of the
ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life,
and man became a living being.”(Genesis 2:7)
Cultivation simply
means inner growth or improves and develops by careful attention.
When it comes to cultivation practice, many people believe
that cultivation practice is only about doing some exercises,
sitting in meditation, and learning some incantations.when
you are studying the way of venerable masters and cultivating
your heart and mind in addition to the means of reaching
Consummation – the exercises, and truly changing yourself
fundamentally while elevating your level – it can be called
true cultivation practice.
Some different ways
of Cultivation
- What is Yoga?
The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning
to bind, join, attach and yoke, to direct and concentrate
one’s attention on, to use and apply. It also means union.
It is the true union of our will with the will of God. It
thus mean’s the yoking of all the powers of body, mind and
soul to God.
- Different kinds of Yoga:
Mantra Yoga: The word mantra is related to manas (the mind).
Yoga means to unite with our Origin. Mantra yoga would then
mean to unite using the tool of mantra. This process is
called concentration and meditation, A mantra is a sound
or word. The mantra is generally used to help focus the
mind on a single thought until thoughtless.
Karma Yoga: Karma yoga is consecration of all actions and
their fruits unto the lord. Karma yoga is performance of
actions dwelling in union with the divine; removing attachment
and remaining balanced ever in success and failure. Karma
yoga is selfless service unto humanity. Karma yoga is the
yoga of action which purifies the heart and prepares the
Antahkarana (the heart and the mind) for the reception of
Divine Light or attainment if Knowledge of the Self. The
important point is that you will have to serve humanity
without any attachment or egoism (selfishness).
Yoga Nidra : Yoga Nidra is known as Psychic Sleep in English.
While sleep is Relaxation without awareness, Yoga Nidra
or Psychic Sleep is defined as Relaxation with Awareness.
In Yoga Nidra, while the body sleeps and the mind is at
rest, consciousness remains active. During the practice
of Yoga Nidra, you will need only active awareness of hearing
and feeling.
Yantra Yoga: YANTRA literally means "support"
and "instrument". A YANTRA is a geometric design
acting as a highly efficient tool for contemplation, concentration
and meditation. YANTRAS carry spiritual significance: there
is a specific meaning that pertains to higher levels of
consciousness. The YANTRA provides a focal point that is
a window into the absolute. When the mind is concentrated
on a single, simple object (in this case a YANTRA), the
mental chatter ceases. Eventually, the object is dropped
when the mind can remain empty and silent without help.
Hata Yoga: Hatha Yoga was developed in ancient India to
incorporate physical conditioning through a series of postures
and breath control.
Ashtanga Yoga: ‘Ashtanga’ literally means eight limbs. They
are described by Patanjali as: Yama (abstinence's), Niyama
(observances), Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath control),
Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration),
Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (contemplation). These
branches support each other. Asana practice must be established
for proper practice of Pranayama, and is a key to the development
of the Yamas and Niyamas. Once these four externally oriented
limbs are firmly rooted, the last four internally oriented
limbs will spontaneously evolve over time. The breath is
the heart of this discipline, and links asana to asana in
a precise order. This breath-synchronised movement is called
‘Vinyasa’. By synchronising movement with breathing and
practising Mula and Uddiyana Bandhas (locks), an intense
internal heat is produced. This heat purifies muscles and
organs, expelling unwanted toxins as well as releasing beneficial
hormones and minerals, which can nourish the body when the
sweat is massaged back into the skin. The breath regulates
the Vinyasa and ensures efficient circulation of blood.
The result is a light, strong body.
